Systems Engineering and Modeling - INDE 7397

Description: This course provides detailed discussions on the engineering design and engineering management processes within the systems life-cycles. The methods, frameworks, techniques and tools for designing, implementing, and managing large-scale systems or processes are presented. Topics include the introduction to systems engineering methods and tools, systems engineering paradigms, WBS and tools in systems decomposition and analysis, design for operational feasibility and systems engineering management.

Textbook: The Engineering Design of Systems: Models and Methods, by Dennis Buede, John Wiley and Sons, Inc. 2000.

Goal: To provides the knowledge and tools necessary for transforming an operational need into a defined system configuration through the interactive process of analysis, integration, synthesis, optimization and design.
