Responsibilities as Product Manager - Purchasing, Joint Restraints division

·   Requirement Analysis – Manage adequate inventory levels for over 600 items in 12 warehouses with a total inventory value of over $10.5 million (Tool used: DRP – Prelude Systems)

·   Forecast Analysis – Compare usages to forecasts and develop models to predict forecasts for upcoming months based on past usage data and projections from marketing

·   Trend Analysis - Evaluate the sales trend by analyzing the deviation between actual usage and forecast and adjust forecasts accordingly

·   Parametric Analysis - Review and change purchasing parameters every month for different warehouses based on usage patterns in an effort to audit the system (Tools used: QRD - Prelude Systems and MITS)

·   Process Flow Analysis – Study the flow of material and information in various processes to eliminate bottlenecks and make them seamless

 

Value Realization

·   Developed an Optimization Model to enhance profit margins by optimizing distribution of orders among vendors, based on factors like pricing, quality, reliability of shipments and promised tonnages to vendors.

·   Developed and validated a model in Excel to arrive at the best forecasting formula for a product, based on past usage data that helped reduce forecasting errors from ±42% to within ±15%
