Hamid Bashiri

Bio:

Hamid Bashiri is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Houston. Prior to joining the UH, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Liege, Belgium. During his stay in Belgium, he worked on the discharge equation of Piano Key weirs. Hamid received his Ph.D. in Hydraulics from Kyoto University, Japan, in 2015. His main research during the Ph.D. was experimental and numerical studies of transient flows with the interface between pressurized and free surface flows in rectangular and circular ducts. Hamid has written or co-written several papers in respected, peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Hydraulic Engineering (American Society of Civil Engineers), Journal of Hydraulic Research (International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research), Journal of Water Resources Management (European Water Resources Association), and Journal of Japan Society of Civil Engineers (Hydraulic Engineering). He has served as a reviewer for the Journal of Hydraulic Engineering (American Society of Civil Engineers), Journal of Water Resources Research (American Geophysical Union), Journal of Water Resources Management (European Water Resources Association), and Journal of Pipeline Systems Engineering and Practice (American Society of Civil Engineers).
