Abstract Search for a suitable job at the end of a student academic career is another daunting endeavor requiring no less effort and attitude. It is even more challenging for foreign students. Since they have to adopt a different culture environment and go thorough a different interview process than it is in their own country. In addition, a foreign student must also maintain the appropriate immigration status to be legally employed in USA. This presentation addresses the different issues involved with job search, employment authorization, interview process for a foreign student in USA.

Mr. Huda has been working for Daily Thermocontrol in Houston, Texas as an Industrial Engineer. Daily Thermocontrol manufactures thermocouples for jet engines for the US military and the US airforce. He finished his M.S. from the Industrial Engineering Department at University of Houston in summer 1997. As a graduate student, he worked as a research assistant in Bomb Threat Simulator Project. He also holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in Bangladesh.
