Biography

I studied Applied Mathematics at Ferdowsi University, Mashhad, Iran. I took the National Graduate Entrance Exam for Socio-Economic Systems Engineering and ranked 1st among more than 5,800 applicants.

During my masters studeis I learnt Econometrics, Project Management, Dynamic Systems, and Economics.

I am studying Ph.D Industrial Engineering at University of Houston.

I worked in industry for seven years where I learned and applied strategic planning, annual planning, and marketing planning.

My interest in learning and research motivated me to enter a Ph.D program

Projects

Currently I am working on these projects

“Resilience is all about being able to overcome the unexpected. Sustainability is about survival. The goal of resilience is to thrive. ” — Jamais Cascio

Future Goals

As a Ph.D student I have these goals:

Improve resilience metrics

The quality of the current resilience metrics are not verified and some of them just reflect few aspect of a resilient system. We are to improve the resilience metrics

Interdependency

Infrastructures are interdependent and an applied study must consider these interdependencies.

Apply resilience metric on Power Grid

Power grids are one of the critial infrastructures that must be recovered after an extreme event. Improving the resilience of a power grid requires a metric to measure the state of the resilience.
