Carbon nanotubes are amongst the strongest materials known to man and yet, their use as a strengthening fiber has been predominately limited to polymer based nanocomposites. My research focuses on incorporating these novel additives into ceramic matrices to enhance mechanical properties or, alternatively, to generate thermally conductive veins in an insulating matrix
