Jinghong Chen received his BS and MS degrees in Engineering Physics from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1992 and 1994, respectively. He received an MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Virginia in 1997, and PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2000.

In 2001, he joined the High-Speed Communication VLSI Research Department of Bell Labs, Holmdel/Murray Hill, New Jersey, as a Member of Technical Staff. At Bell Labs, he led a research team designing CMOS integrated circuits for a bandwidth-efficient wideband optical communication system, clock-data-recovery and equalization circuits for chip-to-chip and FR4 backplane communications, feedback control circuits and systems for Bell Labs' Lambda-Router MEMS switches, and frequency synthesizers and RF transceiver circuits in CMOS and SiGe BiCMOS technologies. In October 2006, he joined Analog Devices Inc., where his work was mainly focused on designing high-performance CMOS circuits and systems for XM Satellite Radio, multimedia home networking, and high-speed serial links.

He returned to academia in 2010. His group conducts research in the area of data converters, high-speed serial links, and RF and millimeter-wave circuits for wireless and wireline communications, computing, imaging and physics experiments. Dr. Chen is a senior member of IEEE and is a technical program committee member for the IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference (CICC) and IEEE Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits Symposium (RFIC).
